Suppliers Code Of Conduct

This Supplier Code of Conduct (“Code”) is applicable to all suppliers with whom Liberty India Destination Management Pvt Ltd. or any of its subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions (“Liberty”/ “LITG”), have a business relationship with and provide, sell, seek to sell, any kinds of goods or services to Liberty.  Suppliers refers to suppliers/ service providers/traders / agents/ consultants/ contractors/ joint venture partners/third parties including their employees, agents and other representatives (“Supplier(s)”/ “You”/ “Your”).

OBJECTIVES

The LITG outlines the ethical, environmental, and legal expectations for its Suppliers and associated entities. In crafting our Code for Suppliers, LITG has sculpted a framework of principles, rules, and values that govern the intricate dance of relationships within and beyond the realms of LITG. This Code isn’t just a document; it’s a shared narrative, a living tapestry designed to not only disseminate but also inspire the adherence and adoption of these principles, rules, and values in the form of Code by You and Your esteemed service goods providers & Suppliers must communicate the requirements of this Code to their suppliers and implement appropriate measures to ensure their compliance with the requirements set out in this Code throughout their supply chain. If asked by LITG, then Suppliers will cooperate and comply with any information requests or audits of their compliance with this Code. Suppliers acknowledge that LITG may immediately terminate any contract or relationship with Suppliers who fail to cooperate and/or breach this Code.

The Suppliers of LITG shall develop their business and professional activities always respecting the following:

 

  • THE HUMAN RIGHTS:

 

  1. The Suppliers shall commit to upholding universally proclaimed human rights, taking proactive measures to prevent violations through action or inaction.                                                                                            
  2. The Suppliers shall respect the human rights of local and indigenous communities where their activities unfold.
  3. The Suppliers shall ensure that all their employees are hired on their own free will and guarantee that all their operations are free from forced, bonded, compulsory, indentured, prison labour or any other form of compulsory labour and child labour.
  4. The Suppliers shall ensure that all its employees are provided equal employment opportunities, an environment conducive to their growth, free from any form of discrimination and harassment.
  5. The Suppliers shall respect the right to freedom of association of their workers and collective bargaining.

                              

  1. The Suppliers shall ensure compliance with working hours, minimum wages, benefits, overtime, leaves, etc. as prescribed by applicable laws and regulations of the land.
  2. The Suppliers shall ensure by taking steps to ensure their business operations are free from slavery and human trafficking practices both internally and within their supply chains and other external business relationships.

 

  1. The Suppliers shall ensure to not engage in any workplace practice and conditions which violate basic rights.
  2. Supplier provides a complaints procedure through which employees can make representation to senior management about key employment issues, raise grievances (including harassment) and seek redress.
  3. The Suppliers shall prohibit any threats, bullying or unlawful harassment of any type, including emotional, physical or sexual harassment of their employees and others with whom they interact.
  4. The Suppliers shall respect the diversity of the workforce and seek an environment where all individuals have equal opportunities and are treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, religion, gender, age, nationality, disability, personal relationship, union membership, sexual orientation, political opinion or any other personal characteristics. Employment shall be based upon individual merit and qualifications directly related to professional competence;

 

  • LABOR LEGISLATION:

 

  1. Suppliers will adhere to all labour laws, prioritizing the protection of collaborators according to the laws of the country in which activities occur.

 

  1. Child Labor: The Suppliers shall actively contribute to eradicate and shall not tolerate child labour in its supply chain, ensuring that all workers are at least 16 (sixteen) years old, if any below aged child is involved then the Supplier should comply with the minimum legal age in the country of operation with applicable national law and regulations or the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, whichever provides the most protection. However, LITG explicitly commit to not recruiting anyone under 16 and oppose any form of labour exploitation.                                                                                                           
  2. The Suppliers shall ensure that children are protected from sexual or other exploitation and abuse and shall without exception report any incidents or suspicions to the local authorities.
  3. The Supplier shall ensure that children do not perform work likely to jeopardize their health, safety or morals.

                                                                                                                                         

  1. The Suppliers confirm the absence of forced labour within their organization, defined as work carried out under threat of penalty or reprisal.

 

  1. Hiring People with Disabilities: Suppliers commit to complying with legal requirements for social contracting of people with disabilities in accordance with the legislation of each country.

 

  • PRINCIPLE OF EQUALITY, INTEGRITY AND ETHICS:

 

  1. Suppliers shall uphold the dignity, privacy, and all rights attributed to their collaborators, fostering a work environment free from intimidation or discrimination based on race, age, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, nationality, social origin, ethnicity, ideology, public opinion, physical capacity, health conditions, pregnancy, or any personal condition.
  2. In the event if the Suppliers are obliged to work with the Liberty’s staff, then the Suppliers needs to act and abide by directives of the LITG , and shall: (i) accurately and fully disclose to the Liberty’s any requested or relevant information regarding their business activities, structure, financial situation and performance which may affect the performance of their contract with Liberty, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and industry practices; and (ii) uphold fair business standards in advertising, sales, and competition when dealing with Liberty’s behalf.

 

  1. Fight against Bribery and Corruption: LITG maintains a zero-tolerance stance against corruption, fraud, and any conduct stemming from fraudulent practices related to courtesies, gifts, or invitations. From our Suppliers, we expect: Adherence to rules combating bribery and corruption in the countries of operation. Compliance with international laws applicable in LITG – operated countries. Diligence in knowing the third parties involved in their business transactions, ensuring the preservation of LITG reputation and the integrity of the supply chain.                                    
  2. Conflict of Interest: The Supplier is required to promptly report to LITG any situation that could lead to a conflict of interest. Additionally, they must inform LITG if any of their employees or professionals under contract with LITG have any form of involvement in the Supplier’s activities or any economic connection with them.

 

  1. Suppliers (inclusive of their employees and suppliers) shall undertake and warrant to keep all and any confidential information disclosed by LITG during their commercial relationships. Such obligations will remain unaltered after the termination of the commercial relationship. Supplier shall comply with all applicable data privacy and information security laws and associated contractual obligations. Supplier must undertake appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect LITG’s data from security incidents in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

 

  1. Suppliers must uphold honesty, integrity, and fair dealing while doing business with LITG. Supplier shall accurately record information regarding its business activities, labour, health and safety, and environmental and management practices and shall disclose such information, without falsification or misrepresentation, to all appropriate parties and as required by law.

 

  • HARASSMENT:

 

Our Suppliers shall commit to a workplace free from any harassment and abuse and shall reject any form of violence, exploitation, inhuman treatment, or harassment, be it physical, verbal, psychological, moral, or sexual, fostering a culture free from abuse of authority. Supplier shall commit to a workplace free of harassment and abuse.

 

  • RIGHT OF FREE ASSOCIATION:

The Suppliers guarantee the affiliation and collective negotiation rights of their collaborators, in accordance with applicable standards in each case.

 

  • COMPLIANCE WITH CURRENT LEGISLATION AND GOVERNANCE:

 

Our Suppliers commit to respecting the laws, standards, and regulations of the countries in which they operate, avoiding practices that could compromise legality or fundamental ethical principles. The Suppliers shall always follow the requisite guidelines of all the permits and registrations compliances which needs to be complied in the country in which they are operating.

 

  • ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABILITY:

 

  1. Resource Efficiency and Waste Minimization – The Supplier shall be tasked with identifying ways to enhance resource efficiency, reduce the consumption of raw materials, electricity, water, and gasoline, and make reasonable efforts to eliminate or minimize waste levels. The Supplier shall monitor, control, treat and endeavour to reduce or eliminate solid waste, environmentally damaging chemicals, and air emissions as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  2. The Supplier shall practice innovative methods and environmentally friendly practices are encouraged to mitigate adverse environmental impacts.

 

  1. The Supplier shall contribute to the sustainability of the communities in which they operate, with progress assessments on community issues in line with industry standards;

 

  • WILDLIFE:

 

  1. In adherence to global standards for wildlife in tourism, LITG requires Suppliers and excursion providers to ensure the “five freedoms” for animal well-being and respect in tourism:

 

  • Freedom from hunger and thirst.
  • Freedom from discomfort.
  • Freedom from pain, injury, and sickness.
  • Freedom to express normal behaviour.
  • Freedom from fear and anguish.

 

Wildlife should remain wild, and Suppliers must guarantee that animals:                              

  • Are not attracted or accustomed to food.
  • Are not persecuted.
  • Are not touched.
  • Are not hunted or frightened with loud noises or bright lights.

 

LITG expects Suppliers to prioritize the well-being of animals. This includes:                                                    

  • Possessing a legal license for the attraction or activity offered.
  • Ensuring animals are not kept in cruel conditions.
  • Avoiding humanization of animals.
  • Prohibiting the training of animals for unnatural tricks.
  • Ensuring animals are not forced to participate in species activities.
  • Providing spacious environments for animals, in line with international guidelines.
  • Ensuring the provision of healthy, sufficient, and regular food for animals.
  • Conducting regular veterinary checks for animals.

 

  • ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY:

 

Suppliers to prepare and maintain accounts of business dealings fairly, accurately and in accordance with accounting and financial reporting standards which represent the generally accepted guidelines, principles, standards, laws and regulations of the country of operation.

The Supplier shall comply with the tax laws and regulations of the country where they operate to promote responsible wealth and income distribution, prevent exploitation of workers, and encourage sustainable economic growth.

The Supplier shall respect and protect any and all intellectual property rights of LITG and shall not use them except without the LITG’s prior written authorisation. Supplier shall refrain from misuse of intellectual property rights of others including unauthorised copying or downloading of software or computer programs while providing products or services to the LITG.

 

  • HEALTH AND SAFETY-

 

LITG expects its Suppliers to provide employees with a safe and healthy workplace in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including safety and health laws, regulations, and practices. Suppliers shall also protect their employees from the risks and hazards arising from their business activities in the workplace. The Suppliers are also encouraged to conduct training and awareness activities for employees on health and safety. The Suppliers shall take reasonable and adequate actions to prevent accident and injuries by analysing and minimizing risk exposure.

 

When followed in letter and spirit, this Code is ‘lived’ by our Suppliers. It represents our shared responsibility to all our stakeholders and our mutual commitment to each other. Suppliers shall read, understand, and affirm compliance with this Code. This Supplier Code of Conduct may be amended by LITG from time to time and LITG will inform You accordingly.
